Cylinder Tracking
Abbott has partnered with Track About to manage the most important asset in our businesses, the cylinders. Our business is unique in that the packaging costs typically many times more than the product and we therefore need to keep tabs on these assets. By tracking the cylinders with bar codes that are linked with the cylinder serial numbers we are accurately able to make sure that our customers are being billed the proper amount for cylinder rental. Also our customers receive reports showing cylinders usage allowing them to eliminate unproductive assets.
Our customers are also about to utilize this online based system to check cylinder balances and even to manage the locations of the cylinders within their own facility.

Carbon Dioxide, CO2, is a tasteless, colorless, odorless, nonflammable gas with an acidic taste that is a molecule formed from one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms.

Atmospheric air contains only 0.03% of Carbon Dioxide, so it is not a commercially feasible source; rather, numerous manufacturing processes furnish by-product streams from which carbon dioxide may be obtained, such as the combustion of coal and natural gas.
Carbon Dioxide's solid phase is Dry Ice.
Carbon Dioxide is used to carbonate soft drinks , as a shielding gas in the arc welding process, as a lasing gas in lasers, fire extinguishers, paint ball propellant and more.
